Alyssa Drake

Child, Adolescent, Teen, & Young Adult Counselor

Alyssa Drake came on board at Dr. Morand & Associates as a graduate intern in summer 2023. She is currently finishing up her graduate course work through Messiah University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Alyssa has been imminently helpful to the practice and is a welcome addition. Alyssa is a forward thinker- and anticipates what needs to be done and loves to be helpful. She is a true professional and a credit to the field of counseling.

We are very much excited, as Alyssa is coming on board as a full time counselor with us Summer 2024! Alyssa is currently accepting new clients.

Alyssa is passionate about working with the child, adolescent, teen, & young adult population. She is dedicated to making her client's therapeutic experience a positive one. Alyssa works with clients to navigate through difficulties, explore and explain developmental processes, establish/enhance behavior management, adjust both socially and emotionally, and develop coping skills. She understands the importance of working with the family of the client as well, and she welcomes a collaborative approach to give clients and their families a sense of security and support.

Alyssa understands each client is different, so she implements several different types of therapy techniques based on each unique situation. A few types include child-centered play therapy, child-parent relationship therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), psychodynamic therapy, and strengths-based therapy. Alyssa’s previous experience includes early childhood development, early childhood education, school-based emotional support interventions and school-based learning support interventions.

Alyssa works directly under the supervision of Dr. Lee Morand at Morand & Associates of Mechanicsburg, as she is currently completing her final graduate internship.

Currently, she only accepts private pay at a rate of $75 an hour for individual and $100 an hour for family until licensure. Once licensed, a variety of insurance will be accepted.
